Spring bulbs and fish and chips partner up

Gardeners from Oxfordshire will be able to get some advice on spring bulb planting and enjoy a fish and chips supper at the same time at a garden centre in the county next month.

Staff at Wyevale Bicester Garden Centre will be hosting a free talk entitled ‘Spring Bulb Planting’ on Thursday, September 9 at 6pm and visitors to the talk are also being invited to a fish and chips supper between 4pm and 6pm.

Adrian Drake, Manager of the garden centre, which is located on Oxford Road in Bicester, said: “We are hosting this free talk for people who would like to find out how, where and when to plant bulbs to create fabulous colour in their gardens for next spring.

“Our horticultural experts, Phil Munn and Nam Seo, will be chatting to visitors about planting techniques, colour combinations and how to feed bulbs to encourage continuous colour year after year.

“To add to the evening, our Four Seasons Restaurant will be serving a delicious fish and chips supper before the talk. People of all ages are welcome to attend either the supper or the free talk but we’re hoping that visitors will take advantage of both events and join us for what promises to be an enjoyable evening.”

The free talk takes place on Thursday, September 9 in the garden centre’s conference room and will last for approximately one hour.
