Small scale garden watering problems solved
Small scale garden watering problems solved

A Yorkshire company has developed a solution to the problem of small scale garden watering projects.

The company, Evolutia Ltd, developed and makes the WaterWand Heliomatic range – small scale, fully automated solar irrigation kits designed for amateur gardeners.

The kits use sunshine to charge a battery, then, every 3 hours the pump starts and applies water in proportion to the light received in the previous 3 hours – more when it is sunny, less when it is dull. The kits are a complete irrigation system (using either drippers or seep hose to apply water) which is quick and easy to install, requiring only a water source such as a rain barrel or tank.

George Evans, director of Evolutia said, “I have used the kits in my own garden for two years now. As I can feed and water automatically, my hanging baskets and pots are far better than they ever were and my vegetables are more reliable and heavy yielding”.

Customers have commented: -

“I use mine on the roof terrace of a small apartment in France – it works without any maintenance or attention and keeps my plants growing in my absence”.

“Just the thing I needed for my balcony garden in Holland”.

“I’ve never been able to grow vegetable seeds before – they always died because I forget to water them enough. But now I have a WaterWand in my vegetable patch they are flourishing”.

“Not only safe but efficient, resource conscious and leaves you to get on with more important things while the plants get on with growing – superb”.

The new WaterWand kits, which can be seen at www.rainwatergardening.com are intended for small garden irrigation projects and are ideal for hanging baskets, pots, raised beds, grow bags and greenhouses. As they are solar powered they can be used anywhere under the sun with a water butt. They are fully automatic and can be left for periods of time without supervision.

The new WaterWand kits will be exhibited at Glee in September.
