Sanders GardenWorld scoops awards

A garden centre in Somerset has recently been presented with top industry awards for the Wales and West region for its staff and disabled access.

Sanders GardenWorld in Brent Knoll has received Highly Commended Awards for its ‘Garden Centre Staff’ and ‘Facilities for the Disabled’ from the Garden Centre Association (GCA).

Peter Burks, General Manager of Sanders GardenWorld, said: “We are delighted with our Highly Commended Awards and I am very proud of the team for this achievement.

“Providing excellent accessibility to people with disabilities and having helpful and knowledgeable staff are both very important to us at Sanders GardenWorld.

“In order to gain the Highly Commended Awards the garden centre had to score 85% or higher in these categories, so to receive them is a great honour.”

The GCA represents more than 150 garden centres across the country. Every member of the GCA is subject to an in-depth annual inspection by independent experts and those scoring highest in key categories are honoured at the annual GCA awards.

Sanders GardenWorld also received Highly Commended Awards for the ‘Approach and Car Park’, ‘Bedding and Patio Plants’, ‘Growing Media’ and ‘Telephone Survey’ categories, as well as a Highly Commended Award for various key areas of the business and a best ‘Point of Sale Signs’ Award.
