Jim Ashby has been appointed as the new manager of Ramsgate Garden Centre.

In his role, he will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the garden centre, which is located on Montefiore Avenue in Ramsgate and is part of The Garden Centre Group.

The 49-year-old said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to this position and I am pleased to be joining the garden centre’s team.

“I will oversee the running of the garden centre and the restaurant, and will continue to improve the shopping experience for our customers. I am looking forward to working with the excellent team at the centre to achieve this.

“I have been employed in the retail industry for most of my working life and I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help me fulfil my new role at Ramsgate Garden Centre.”

Prior to taking up the post at Ramsgate Garden Centre, Jim was the Manager of Elm Court Garden Centre, which is also part of The Garden Centre Group.

Before Jim’s career in the horticultural industry he attended Thanet Technical Catering College in Kent and worked as a chef for the BBC at Bush House in Westminster, London. He was also the Store Manager of a large supermarket outlet in Ramsgate for 12 years.
In his spare time, the father-of-three from Herne Bay enjoys listening to music, gardening and entertaining.

Regional Manager for The Garden Centre Group, Paul Dye, said: “I am pleased to welcome Jim to the team at Ramsgate Garden Centre and I am looking forward to working with him.”
