Bayer Garden's exciting 2012

2012 is an exciting year for Bayer Garden with rebranded packaging, a TV campaign, new product and great promotions.

Building a new Bayer Garden family
To capitalise on the loyalty shown to market leading products, Bayer Garden has invested in new packaging to establish a ‘family’ presence across its range of products.

The new packaging introduces a cohesive ‘look and feel’ across all products. Blended into the new style are the identities of the company’s market leading products, so consumers will continue to recognise them quickly and easily on the shelf , which in turn will drive cross category sales.

As Seen on TV
Bayer Garden is supporting the family by spending over £1 million on an advertising campaign incorporating TV and press advertisements, for 2012.

“The campaign focuses on our innovative and highly successful Simple Soluble Sachet range of concentrate weedkillers,” explained Product Manager Alison Mulvaney.  “The TV advertisements will be supported with a press campaign across the gardening titles and national newspapers, as well as a broad programme of in-store activity.”

Welcoming new family members
Plant food
Continuing its recent track record of successful additions to the Baby Bio range – Baby Bio Orchid Food in 2009; Baby Bio Citrus Food and Baby Bio for Herbs in 2010 – Bayer Garden has added Baby Bio for Tomatoes.  Its formulation promotes healthy plants and full flavoured fruits and is ideal for chillis and peppers as well as tomatoes; ideal for those gardeners growing one or two plants in gro-bags or pots on the patio.

Weedkillers
New for 2012 is Tough Rootkill.  A ready to use formulation, Tough Rootkill is a systemic weedkiller that is ideal for use on bindweed, nettles, thistles, ground elder, dandelions, docks, grasses and many more unwanted weeds.

Also a new ready to use formulation of Long Lasting Ground Clear will be added to the range.  A systemic weedkiller with a residual effect, Long Lasting Ground Clear ready to use will keep weeds away for up to six months. Also new in this category is the larger 12 sachet packet of Super Strength Glyphosate that, as a super concentrated systemic weedkiller, is ideal for tough weeds like Japanese Knotweed, ivy and brambles.

Insecticides
Brand new in 2012 is Ultimate Fruit & Vegetable Bug Killer, using a Bayer
active previously only available to professional growers.  Available in ready to use and concentrate formulations, these products are ideal for grow your own enthusiasts, suitable for use on a comprehensive range of fruits and vegetable plants, killing and controlling greenfly, blackfly, caterpillars, beetles, weevils, apple and pear suckers, capsids, sawfly and whitefly.

Rodenticides
Previously only available to professional pest controllers, is Bayer Garden’s new Rat & Mouse Soft Block, which contains Difethialone. It is fast acting and effective after only one feed, with no known resistance.  It comes in pre-measured sachets so there is no need to touch the bait and it is extremely attractive to the rodent, being preferred even if other food sources are present.
